In Germany, Sharebot is a 3D Drucken Manufacturer, Too

With a launch party scheduled for this May 28th, Italian 3D printer manufacturer Sharebot is opening up its new German division, Sharebot.de. The initiative comes as a collaboration with local 3D print shop and retailer Dimension Alley, the first 3D print cafe in Berlin and one of the very 3D printing stores in Europe overall.

Sharebot’s goal is to bring its trademark “made in Italy” desktop 3D printers to the German public, which Amin Torabi and Norma Barr, the shop’s founders, had already begun to sell on their premises. Arturo Donghi, Sharebot’s CEO had explained to me a few months ago that the company’s expansion strategy entails the creation of such direct collaborations with local partners, in order to better connect with the needs and requirements of users outside of the domestic Italian market.

Through its German base, Sharebot will distribute its full range of products. These now include Voyager, their first DLP 3D printer, the large format XXL (with a 70 cm horizontal working area), as well as the NG and Kiwi-3D, Sharebot’s top selling standard and small volume 3D printers. Sharebot.de will also carry a wide range of special Sharebot filaments, but is awaiting the low-cost SLS 3D printer, currently in development and expected to by launching by the end of 2015.

Sharebot.de opened a German language website (www.sharebot.de) and social pages both on Facebook and Twitter, where potential customers may view the product lineup, explore their features, and receive technical support when needed: all of these services are now available in the German language.

The Italian company now has more than 60 resellers in more than 10 European countries and its stated objective is to offer the best working tools to small and medium-sized enterprises. It will be interesting to asses how the young company will fare in the the nation that is home to the likes of EOS, Concept Laser, voxeljet, and EnvisionTEC – some of the top, high-end 3D printer manufacturers in the world – with German RepRap steadily occupying the prosumer segment.
