3D Hubs & Autodesk Fusion 360 Workshop Invites You to Design Your Own 3D Printable Lampshade

3D Hubs has been touring the world with an increasing number of workshops that give 3D printing users hands-on experience with new materials and technologies. With the ColorFabb workshop series, attendees have gotten to use the new Carbon XT-C20 carbon fiber filament and, their Sketchfab workshops have allowed them to perform 3D scans. Their latest series sees 3D Hubs team up with Autodesk to teach participants to design their own 3D printable lampshade with Autodesk Fusion 360.

Autodesk Fusion 360 is Autodesk’s cloud-based 3D modeling software that is free for students and low-cost for enterprises. From what I’ve heard, it’s been a pretty great tool for everyone from jewelry designers to Printrbot’s Brook Drumm to create new designs. The 3D Hubs & Autodesk Fusion 360 Workshop will see a Fusion 360 Evangelist lead attendees through the designing of their own 3D printable lampshade as a means of teaching them how to use the 3D modeling software.

By purchasing a ticket to the event, you’ll get the workshop, a $15 3D​ ​Hubs​ ​print voucher, drinks and snacks, and a place to network with other 3D modeling and 3D printing enthusiasts. The first event takes place in New York at the 3D Hubs office, where 3D Hubs invites parents of attendees under 16 to lounge on their rooftop deck.
